Harmony, 12’ x 3’ x 3’, stainless cubes. Vistech Research Park, W. Lafayette, IN. The art call asked for concepts that represented business people working together in a high tech innovative atmosphere, with thoughts on technology companies working together, connected for growth. I proposed “Harmony”, apiece comprised of 12 stainless steel metal cubes of various sizes pivoting around an axis, going to a height of 12 feet. This concept was presented not only as a set of sketches and photo mockups, but also as a physical scale model. Through the model and sketches, conversations could focus on the sculpture’s orientation, placement, and installation. Additional conversations about the piece resulted in fabrication adjustments to account for the environmental (wind) and the human (students possibly hanging on it).

One of my latest creations, a one-of-a-kind sculpture featuring children sitting in their famous red wagons at Riley Hospital. I have enjoyed the logo design for a long time. It reminds me of some of the drawings my son has created. I hand forged all the parts to create this work of art, transforming an abstract graphic into a physical reality. This sculpture could be given as a wonderful gift to one of the top doctors, or someone special at Riley. The size is 7.5 L x 3.5 w x 5.5 h, (2 lbs.), painted forged metal. Hoosier Salon's 89th Annual Exhibition August 13th- September 28, 2013 at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. 450 West Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN My latest work "Happiness" can be seen in the show this year. It is a 34 inch tall cherry wood carving. My son is aware that the sculpture could receive an award once judged. Win or lose, he made my day by creating his own award design and surprised me with this drawing. He said, "This is for you daddy, I know your art piece will win." Now this is confidence and support that I can use!
Mother with Child is a life size bust of a woman breast-feeding her baby. The challenge was to give the form contour and yet, to allow the eye to fill in the space. To effectively achieve the look, sheet metal was used for the focal point. The rest of the sculpture is made of steel rod. This piece is 4 feet tall by 3 1/2 feet deep by 2 feet wide.
The hand carved cedar sculpture titled “Mother and Child”, stands 27″ tall with a base of 5.5″ x 5.5″. It would make a wonderful gift for that special wife, mom, daughter, sister, or friend who takes care of a child. My goal was to capture a feeling of tenderness, closeness, and strength. This work of art is an original and a one-of-a-kind. Contact me if interested @ (317) 257-7348, or firstname.lastname@example.org
