Heart and Soul, 8’ x 3.5’ diameter, (clay), bronze, 2016. It is about cherishing those moments of joy that our children give to us and to our community. The sculpture depicts a playful parent and child. A small child is held in her parent’s hands as she stretches out her arms, imagining flying. I wanted a sense of playfulness and motion into my design. I integrated long, pronounced, fluid, smooth lines to lead the eye to the main focal point of the interaction of the child and adult.
