“Vector 7” 12′ x 12’ x12′, tapered aluminum tubing, ¼ inch steel center core, suspended metal ring, 2016.
“Vector 7” is a vibrant, fun, abstract shape, created through applying the principals of geometry and physics. I was inspired to create this artwork after experimenting with tapered tubing in a variety of concepts. My design morphed into this fractal shape that has a core center structure that balances all the extensions.
The sculpture will be painted in grey aluminum with the ring painted white. The center ring will be suspended with galvanized wire. The legs will be anchored in a triangle pattern, with pre-drilled holes to anchor each pad. There are no special maintenance needs.
