I see the Quartet concept where each musician could stand 8′ tall or taller. At this height it would be striking and offer a real sense of presence. I like to use inspiration from master sculptors.
In this case, I was taken by Alberto Giacometti’s work for his rough, lumpy, and elongated forms. He did this style to place emphasis on the human condition in the concentration camps during WWII. Using a loose interpretation of his work, I was able to create this fluid, textured, non-literal expression of a quartet.
I can visualize this work and feel it would be stunning! The “Quartet” or “Piano Player” are contemporary, energetic and expressive works of art. They would balance and contrast well with the Palladium architecture.
