Power of Love – St. Francis and the Leper

Power of Love – St. Francis and the Leper post image

The Power of Love, a bronze sculpture, evokes a sense of spirituality through expressing the divinity in each of us. The sculpture was inspired by St. Francis’ life (a.k.a. Francis of Assisi) reflected in his kind actions towards lepers. The sculpture is also about the process of healing, through love, and devotion.

On a personal note, I connected to St. Francis’ thoughts because of the loss of my father due to colon cancer. Throughout my life I saw my father being the strong person that I could count on, but at the end of his life our roles were reversed. It was our turn (siblings) to return the support and love to him, physically helping him move about. For me, this figurative form conveys this deeper beauty and grace.
